With a new single released today (their first full-band project in four years), Desert Noises joined Casey in the ONErpm studio for an interview and performance. After a brief hiatus, all four members are back and ready to tour. They hail from the desert in Provo, Utah, where the environment and culture “provide a lot of space to create music”. In 2008, they quit their jobs, lived on $6 a day, and booked their first shows. The rest is history!  Desert Noises released their latest single with ONErpm!

They’ll be back in Nashville on November 11th at the East Room, as part of their fall tour with Morning Teleportation. Both bands’ singles will be included on a cassette available for purchase at their shows. They held a cool promotion before the singles dropped: fans that pre-saved the single on streaming services were entered to win a signed cassette.

Listen to the performance and interview below.

Casey is that rarest of creatures…a Native Tennesseean. His love of music can be traced to the day his dad sat him down and played him Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love?” Everything pretty much changed after that. He began his broadcasting career at the age of 14 at an AM station in Northern Middle Tennessee. It was there he learned how to cue vinyl records, splice tape with razor blades, and other skills that no longer serve any purpose. In the late nineties, he was the host of our evening show until management decided that probably wasn’t a good idea anymore. Casey returned to Nashville airwaves in 2016. When he isn’t on the air, he spends his time with his wife and son. He would also appreciate it if you’d get offa his lawn.
