Riding high on their 2017 ATO Records release, Destroyers of the Soft Life, Richmond-based outfit J Roddy Walston and The Business return to co-headline Sevier Park Fest 2018 following an at-capacity show at the Basement East in late 2017. The band has built a strong relationship with Nashvillians over the years, with numerous headline shows under their belts along with appearances at Live on the Green and alongside Eric Church at Ascend Amphitheater.
Designated as “Emerging Artist of the Year Award” at the Americana Music Awards 2017, Nashvillian Amanda Shires’ breakthrough album, My Piece of Land, addresses matters of the heart and home with as much grit as grace. Recorded in Nashville with producer Dave Cobb, Shires stands firmly on a foundation of more than a decade of releases and tours, including dates with John Prine, Justin Townes Earl, Shovels and Rope, and her husband and frequent collaborator, Jason Isbell. Most recently, Shires announced she’s in the midst of working on a new album with Cobb, due for release later this year, and featuring appearances from Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings.
SUSTO, a Charleston, South Carolina-based five-piece who have won over Nashvillians and countless others with their relentless touring, enthusiastic live sets, and their recent release, & I’m Fine Today kick the festival off. 2017 saw the band supporting The Lumineers on an US and Canada tour, numerous festival and headline dates.
