RETRO LIGHTNING – 1974

(Show #977; aired on 07-21-2012)

.

1974 was a year of real music discovery for me.  Growing up as a teen listening primarily to Top 40 “Boss-Jock” radio, I had no idea what depths of Rock music were out there until I landed my first on-air gig at Vanderbilt’s WRVU on October 5, 1974.  It was the first time I ever opened a mic on FM radio.  I was a high school senior and scared to death that afternoon!  A bit calmer now in my old age, let’s re-live some of those musical memories together this morning!  I hope you enjoy our trip back to 1974! — Fred
