RETRO LIGHTNING – 1976

(Show #986; aired on 09-22-2012)

.

During  1976, I was the Music Director for my college radio station at Vanderbilt.  There was plenty of great new music just ripe for the taking:  Rock,Top 40, Jazz/Fusion cross-overs, and a touch of Country, too!  On today’s show, we’ll re-live some of the best selling music from our nation’s Bicentennial Year… along with some deeeeeeeper album tracks taken from my 1976 college radio experience.  Hopefully, you’ll remember some of these…. — Fred

Ouch…will miss you madly (if Mary will permanently take over for you). You’re a musical encyclopedia whose musical timeline mirrors mine. Supporting you in Kingston Springs. NO one is perfect and you’re innocent until proven otherwise.

This is the best show on radio.

    Hey Fred,

Great year, 1976! We got married December 1975 (OMG I was 20). The song that blew us away in 1976 was “Daydream” from ‘Robin Trower Live’.

    We were Spellbound.

Great show, I always get up early on Saturday so I won’t miss anything.

    Thanks,
    Pru
