Having a case of the Mondays? Well hopefully my DJ pick of the week will cheer you up! Whitney is the musical love child of Max Kakacek (formerly of Smith Westerns) and Julien Ehrlich (Smith Westerns and Unknown Mortal Orchestra). You can’t help but fall in love with the laid back, nostalgia of their debut album, ‘Light Upon The Lake,’ released earlier this summer. I was introduced to this Chicago-based band by a Lightning co-worker, and now I can’t stop listening. As summer comes to close, their single “Golden Days” will take you back to the warmer days of sunshine pop. Let me know what you think in a comment below!
