Nashville, TN (April 23, 2014) – Live On The Green Music Festival organizers and representatives from Lightning 100, along with Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, announced a number of exciting changes to Live On The Green Music Festival today. In its sixth year, Nashville’s premiere free music series, which takes place at Public Square Park in downtown Nashville, will kick off the 2014 season with three consecutive Thursdays - August 14, 21, 28 and wrap up with a weekend finale planned for September 4, 5 and 6.
“As we approached our sixth year, we knew we wanted to grow the event in a way that would offer our guests an even bigger, better experience,” said Lester Turner, Executive Producer of Live On The Green and President of Tuned In Broadcasting, Inc. “We decided that adjusting our schedule was the best way to accomplish that goal. In 2014, Live On The Green will graduate from a weekly concert series to a full-fledged music festival featuring an expanded artist line-up and festival site, longer hours, and a new schedule. Of course, as always, all events will remain free and open to the public.”
In addition to more free music, fans will also enjoy an expanded festival site. As with previous years, the site footprint will encompass all of 3rd Avenue between Union Street and James Robertson Parkway, and for the first time will extend up Deaderick Street to 4th Avenue. This additional city block of space will allow the festival to provide a greater number of food, retail and entertainment offerings.
“Live On The Green continues to grow its fan base while also continuing to bring local and national artists to perform on Nashville’s front lawn – our Public Square,” Mayor Dean said. “I want to congratulate Lester Turner and his team for making this free music festival one of the top events in the country. I am pleased to see the addition of a free weekend festival that will showcase live music and all that Nashville has to offer to local residents and visitors alike.”
The 2014 Live On The Green artist lineup will be announced on Thursday, June 26, 2014, the same day that VIP ticket packages will go on sale. Lightning 100’s Music City Mayhem winner, Phin, has already been announced as the first artist to perform at the 2014 festival. Phin survived 28 rounds to beat 32 other bands to earn the winning slot on the 2014 Live On The Green artist lineup.
