RETRO LIGHTNING – 1971

(Show #972; aired on 06-16-2012)

.

1971 was a truly great year in Progressive Rock with a crapload of new material to discover and absorb!  I was also rocking away myself as a rhythm guitarist in a high school Rock & Roll band that year.  Just put together a collection of vinyl albums featuring long, drawn-out compositions with some new tunes from a breed of singer-songwriters who evolved out of the Folk music scene, and you’ve got one helluva year!  Sit back, relax, grab your coffee, and feel the memories with me today. — Fred
