Recently I had the opportunity to sit down with our Afternoon Show host, Ana Lee, to ask her about what concerts she’s looking forward to seeing this coming November. Here are her Must-See Shows for November of 2018: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

November 1st: Thunderground Showcase @ the Basement East
Who’s playin’: Pet Envy, Waker, The Roosevelts

What you need to know: hosted by Lightning 100, the Thunderground Showcase spotlights up-and-coming local talent at one of the best venues in Nashville! November 3rd: Lightning 100 Presents: Give Thanks Fest @ the Exit/In
Who’s playin’: Roots of a Rebellion, Aaron Kamm & The One Drops, Kat Milk Blu

What you need to know: Presented by Lightning 100, Give Thanks Fest will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Canned goods or monetary donations will receive raffle tickets for an assortment of giveaways to be announced!

November 5th: Bob Weir and Wolf Bros. @ Ryman Auditorium
Who’s playin’: Bob Weir featuring Don Was and Jay Lane

What you need to know: what else is there to say besides the fact that Bob Weir is one of the most mythical figures in music today? Legendary co-founder of the Grateful Dead, Weir will be taking the stage to perform Grateful Dead tunes in a trio consisting of legendary musician/producer Don Was and Jay Lane, a drummer very well-known in the Deadhead community.

 

November 8th: Lightning 100 Presents: Allen Stone @ Cannery Ballroom
Who’s playin’: Allen Stone and Nick Waterhouse

What you need to know: How can you not love the man that brought us wonderful songs like “Unaware,” “Contact High,” and “What I’ve Seen”? It’s easy to fall in love with a man influenced by Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and James Morrison; which must explain why his show, hosted by Lightning 100, is SOLD OUT.

 

November 16th: Kamasi Washington @ Marathon Music Works
Who’s playin’: Kamasi Washington and Butcher Brown

What you need to know: This man. Oh, this man! What a talent. So brilliant is he that he has not only blown away everyone in the jazz community with his extreme ability with the saxophone, he’s also permeated into the mainstream and has collaborated with huge names such as Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill and Thundercat.

 

November 18th: Tennis @ 3rd and Lindsley
Who’s playin’: Tennis and Matt Costa

What you need to know: as a part of their Solo & Stereo tour, husband-and-wife duo Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley will be bringing their music to 3rd & Lindsley for another installment of Nashville Sunday Night, hosted by Lightning 100 and Ana Lee! Having never played a show together as a two-piece, Tennis will be playing a paired down, intimate show.

 

November 20th: Jim James @ Schermerhorn Symphony Center
Who’s playin’: Jim James and Alynda Segarra (Hurray for the Riff Raff)

What you need to know: you’ve probably heard the name Jim James on your radar at some time or another. He’s the frontman for a small band called My Morning Jacket, maybe you’ve heard of them? Anyway, James will be making his debut at the Schermerhorn to play highlights from the MMJ catalogue as well as solo stuff from his new album, Uniform Distortion. Presented by Lightning 100, one dollar per ticket purchased will go to The Waterfall Project, whose beneficiaries will be United for a Fair Economy and National Bail Fund Network.

 

November 23rd: Boy Named Banjo @ Marathon Music Works
Who’s Playin’: Boy Named Banjo, The War & Treaty, Guthrie Brown

What you need to know: Join Lightning 100 and Marathon Music Works as we salute our veterans with a live concert which will highlight & support Middle Tennessee Veterans & charities. Three Middle Tennessee Veteran Charities have been selected to receive proceeds from this event and we are excited to embrace ReBoot Combat Recovery, Operation Song & CreatiVets.
