Jayson’s DJ Pick of the Week
Marcus King recently made his break from his seven year old South Carolina band, The Marcus King Band. The young guitar phenom officially debuted as a solo artist with the release of his first album El Dorado back in January. The 24 year old had Greenville in his rear view mirror as he made his way down to Nashville where he met Dan Auerbach, and together they cranked out this soulful record.
“Say You Will” is the eighth track on King’s newest album El Dorado. King is often referred to “one of the most soulful voices of his generation,” and it’s pretty easy to agree with in this song. A lot of the tracks on King’s latest release seem to relate back to making a new start from pain and heartbreak of the past, but in a classic rock, country-soul kinda way.
