Brit Taylor sings with an honest voice in her song “Ain’t That Lonely Yet,” featured as our ONErpm Hitmaker! “Ain’t That Lonely Yet” is off of Brit Taylor’s 2021 Deluxe album version of Real Me. This strong debut was released in 2020 with ten self-reflective songs. Three additions were added to Real Me (Deluxe) and continue to tell Taylor’s story of growth & acceptance.
Nothing in life is ever easy or goes according to plan. Taylor experienced heartache and feelings of doubt regarding her career. She sought out ways to overcome the challenges presented before her, and found hope with songwriter Dan Auerbach. Together, they wrote eight songs, some of which are on Real Me. “Dan didn’t try to make me sound like anybody else, he just let me be me. That was the kick of courage I needed to make my record my way,” recounts Taylor.
Taylor’s songwriting skills and melodic voice redefine country music. She mixes elements of Americana and Indie with her country roots to make a sound all her own. “Ain’t That Lonely Yet” is a cover of Dwight Yoakam’s 1993 country classic. Taylor uses this song as an expressive piece about a love. While the relationship is over, she is not letting anyone make her feel lonely. Taylor’s songs are all hopeful in that she looks to the past for inspiration and looks to the future for what is to come. “It took me 30 years to figure out who the real me is. I’m glad I found her,” says Taylor.
