Marquee Mayfield never fails to impress an audience with their soulful performances and upbeat funk music. The band blends forms of retro funk with R&B and pop sounds creating energetic music that’ll have you dancing all night long. Some of the Marquee Mayfield’s biggest inspirations include Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and Sly & The Family Stone.
When asked about the creation of the group’s name, front-man Andrew Glass explains, “Who doesn’t love those classic theater marquees with the big bright bubble lights? I’ve always been inspired by Curtis Mayfield and I love alliterations.” Glass, alongside 8-10 others per show, come together to create groovy yet soulful melodies with disco inspired themes. They successfully create a mix of retro productions of the 70s and 80s while maintaining their own unique sound.
