2020 was a whirlwind of year for everyone, and the craziness can sometimes be hard to put into words. Nané has no issues portraying their version of 2020 with single “Seventeen,” a song that recounts a crazy quarantine adventure. The Texas-made band has released hit after hit lately, with “Seventeen” being a favorite with Stephanie as her DJ Pick of the Week.
“Seventeen” takes listeners through a quarantine gone wrong. It details the frustration and boredom everyone felt when being told to stay inside. 2020 changed the way we interact with each other, and that’s something Nané touches on in the song.
“Wait for the days when you come to my place / And we take off the mask and we talk, talk, talk.”
There’s a new standard for our society, and while it may seem like a lot, the music video for “Seventeen” explains why we should be listening. It feels like an episode of The Twilight Zone, with everyone in hazmat suits and not knowing what’s reality and what’s not. The video follows vocalist Daniel Sahad as he decides to leave the house during quarantine and the trouble he runs into along the way. It’s a crazy, adventurous video that brings together the story of the song perfectly.
Now, we don’t have to worry about leaving the house, and live music is finally back! You can catch Nané right here in Nashville on December 17th. The group celebrates their self-titled debut album that they released last year now that everything has finally cooled down.
