“Rushing Water” is the latest hit from 17- time Grammy Award winning artist, Sting. It’s also incidentally, Rev’s DJ pick of the Week! The song accompanies his most recent album The Bridge, which Sting wrote and recorded at his home studio during the recent pandemic quarantine. Throughout the track list, the former Police legend reflects over “personal loss, separation, disruption, lockdown, and extraordinary social and political turmoil.”.

Sting, in a recent press release, also speaks specifically to the song “Rushing Water”. The artist maintains that, “The song ‘Rushing Water’ is a fitting start to an album that seeks to bridge all of the petty differences that can separate us.”. Composed beautifully of various simple, yet grand, scenes. Sting takes the spotlight again, once more reminding us of his iconic talent.

Written by Sting, “Rushing Water” features Dominic Miller and Gavin Brown on guitars, Josh Freese on drums, Martin Kierszenbaum on organ and keyboards, Fred Renaudin on additional synthesizers and Gene Noble on background vocals. All in all this song reflects the creative expertise that went into conceptualizing and producing the project as a whole. Ever the classic artist, Sting has done it yet again. Giving old fans new melodies and chords to hear, and enticing future fans with a modern beat woven together through a legendary voice.
