Jayson’s DJ Pick this week is Blackberry Smoke’s newest single “Little Bit Crazy”
Since 2004, Blackberry Smoke has been making southern rock music for the soul. After releasing 5 successful full-length albums, they’ve gained recognition on the top of the Billboard charts, amassed a steady following, and have gotten the opportunity to have Grammy award-winning producer Dave Cobb’s collaboration on their upcoming album, “Be Right There.”
“Little Bit Crazy” is the second single off of “Be Right There,” out on February 16th. The beginning of the track teases the chorus with a gospel 2-part harmony, then jumps right into a rock song using the same melody as before. The storyline follows someone who has an unhealthy involvement with somebody, but stays for the thrill of it. Blackberry Smoke has a little bit of everything in this song. Whether you’re a hard rock enjoyer or more of a folk listener, both could easily find some common ground here.
