This week on Community Corner, we’re talking with Robin Nobling, Executive Director at NAMI Davidson County. NAMI works to improve the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education, and advocacy.
Robin announced a new program that is launching on Saturday, March 4th, to support individuals with family members or friends who struggle with varying mental health disorders. Robin talks about how common mental health struggles can be on all sides of the scale. NAMI found that large community of people caring for loved ones with mental health conditions, specifically in a parental role, needed guidance. The class that NAMI is creating aims to help parents and caretakers better understand mental disorders.
Later in the year, on May 20th. NAMIWalks Greater Nashville will continue at Bicentennial Mall Park! This is a fundraiser walk encouraging hope and awareness. Along with the walk, there will also be live music and other vendors in celebration. Visit https://namiwalks.org/greaternashville to get involved with NAMIWalks!
