Lightning 100 is excited to announce Flight Attendant as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week with their song “Powerlines”!

Flight Attendant has been paving their own way in the Nashville indie scene since 2018 with their first single release “Slow June”. Since then they have released other projects including their self titled EP in 2023, which gained a lot of traction for the group. The band formed after Karalyne Winegarner (Lead Vocals, Keys) met Vinny Maniscalco (Vocals, Guitar) working at a local restaurant. The two then met Nikki Christie (Vocals, Viola); Peyton Rodeffer (Bass, Vocals); and Derek Sprague (Drums) who completed the group of five. Pulling inspiration from groups like Cage the Elephant and Christine and the Queens, this band is covering a wide range of genres. Flight Attendant is captivating, seductive, and knows exactly how to work a crowd.

“Powerlines”, a track off of their sophomore album Under the Powerlines, is an ode to our beginnings. It is remembering where we came from and appreciating how our stories have led us to where we are today. It explains the changing of perspective that comes with growing up. “And growing up was fine, and now we know why / Our mamas worked hard for this American life” This track encapsulates the feeling of nostalgia and encourages the listener to look back at the past through “rose colored glasses.”

Be sure to catch Flight Attendant at 3rd and Lindsley Sunday, January 26th for Nashville Sunday Night!

Tune in to 100.1 FM and lightning100.com all week to hear “Powerlines” by Flight Attendant, our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week!
