Jay’s DJ pick of the week is “it’s not that i hate you” by Gabrielle Grace!
Gabrielle Grace, originally from Southeast Texas, is a, now, Nashville local making her mark on the music scene. She got her start back in 2021 with her debut EP, We’ll Be Alright, and released her first album, There Are Two Sides To Everything, in 2023. Priding herself as a conversationalist, Gabrielle knows how to create a captivating story through her music. She has a down to earth sound that makes each listener feel as though they are a part of the story.
“it’s not that i hate you” is the first single off of Grace’s new EP, Pink Skies, set to release June 26th of this year. Grace explains that this song came about during a battle with expectations. “It’s not that I hate you/ You just shouldn’t have done that / Now i’m calling my friends again / To see if I should write back.” Grace channels the fear of being disappointed over and over again by the same person, and the turmoil of deciding whether or not to give them another chance.
