Lightning 100’s Music City Mayhem reigning champ, Kenny Sharp is back with newest EP Gold Rush! Sharp is known for his talented use of genre-bending sound that combines Americana rock and Blues. He gains inspiration from musical scenes including Nashville, Memphis, and his hometown Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He uses skillful storytelling and developed songwriting to create songs that leave a deep emotional impact on listeners. Sharp describes his goals behind his craft as “music that makes you feel”.
“Good Graces” proves Sharp’s powerful use of soulful instrumentation and captivating lyrics that leaves listeners wanting more. The track features heavy bass presence and skillful guitar riffs that powerfully introduces the chorus. Sharp sings about someone who is trying to get back in his good graces and the sun going down on that relationship. The song describes a person that keeps crawling back with lyrics like “You come by each Sunday morning / Hand on your heart singing my praises / Knocking at my door / Trying to get back in my good graces”. Sharp is headed out on tour this spring including at the East Room on March 6th!
