Lightning 100 is excited to announce Nordista Freeze as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week with his song “Listen to You”!
The 2021 Music City Mayhem champion, Nordista Freeze, is a Nashville experimental pop/rock artist. Freeze is well known for his high-energy performance style that carries over to the notorious Space Prom event he hosts each year. His latest album, “On the Banks of Disappearing” was released on February 21st of this year. Alongside the release of his album, Nordista Freeze also released a documentary showing the footage of the week-long escape to Pittsburg his band took to record and mix the album.
“Listen to You” is a song featured on Nordista Freeze’s newest record. The song is only two minutes and fifty two seconds long, but manages to keep listeners captivated for its entirety. The song tells the story of Freeze finding a woman at a party playing a guitar and his instant captivation with her. This is shown in the following lyrics, “I see you strumming guitar on the steps / Lavender dress / May I ask a request? / I wanna listen to you.” The music features bouncing drums with pulsing guitar and electronic melodies that help to create a fun, danceable track. Freeze’s vocal performance utilizes a falsetto to create a catchy melody that gets stuck in listeners’ heads.
