Join Team Lightning and Weed Wrangle®-Nashville for a community service event! Weed Wrangle®-Nashville, is a one-day, citywide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants. Come help remove these invasive-exotic plants which are damaging the natural environment near Two Rivers Park.
We will be partnering with the #GrowGoats to help keep our greenways healthy and thriving. You pick ’em, the goats will eat ’em!
Please remember to bring gloves, long pants, and a sturdy pair of shoes on your volunteer day. While some of the sites may provide refreshments, you might want to bring a water bottle as well. You are welcome to bring any handheld tools, such as clippers, shovels, etc., as long as they are not engine powered (no chainsaws). Tools will also be provided at the site. Volunteers can expect to be educated and trained as to the identification and removal of invasive plants.

Difficulty: Open to all ability levels. Work may be strenuous, so be prepared to bend over and pull weeds!
Group Size Limit: This event is limited to 30 volunteers.
Registration Deadline: The deadline to register for this event is Thursday, February 28th at 3:00pm.
Parking: Parking is available at the facility

Children Policy: Open to ages 10 and over with parental supervision.
Dog Policy: Dogs are not permitted at this event
Weather Policy: Dress for the weather–rain or shine, we will wrangle weeds!

ABOUT WEED WRANGLE
Weed Wrangle®, is a one-day, citywide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants. Typical unwelcome plants are honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica and L. maackii), Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense), winter creeper (Euonymus fortunei), autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata var. parviflora), English ivy (Hedera helix) and kudzu (Pueraria montana var. lobata).
Supervised by an experts in invasive weed management, Weed Wrangle®-volunteers will learn, practice, and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of invasive plants and encourage replanting with natives in removal areas. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a movement that will have the greatest impact on the invasive plant population.
