Nashville-based musician and songwriter Charlie Whitten has established himself as a Nashville staple, performing as everyone’s favorite sideman for years. Now he’s recruited a slew of local talent from Caitlin Rose to Andrew Combs for his latest solo effort Make Time. With songs reminiscent of the Eagles and Neil Young, Make Time feels like an instant classic.
“For me, the ‘60s and ‘70s were the golden age for songwriting,” Whitten once said. “That’s when songs seemed to be the real focus, and people reached outside the box. The chords and melodies used were unheard of.”
This inspiration is apparent in standout tracks like “Make Time,” “Left Behind,” and “Always Wanted.” Listen to “Always Wanted” below and let us know what you think.
