Stephanie’s #L100DJPick of the Week
Local musician, Josh Gilligan, has been on the rise since dropping his first single “Absent Mind” in November of 2018. The Nashville artist recently toured the U.S. with Liza Anne, playing alongside her as they opened for Kasey Musgrave’s sold out show at The Ryman last January. During the tour, Gilligan dropped two groovy tracks with “Slowly” being his most popular.
His latest release does not disappoint. Gilligan writes on his Instagram post that “Control” was written about “loosening up the grip on the reigns.” He admits that giving up control is difficult, but it always “cracks open the door for some new calm.” With the perfect blend of Gilligan’s angelic voice and bass background, giving up control to this song is almost too easy.
