Jayson’s DJ Pick of the Week!
Jayson is setting the tone of this week with Delta Spirit’s lively track “How Bout It.” Following a six year hiatus, the track is a part of the band’s new album What is There, which is set to release September 11th. The album is dedicated to Richard Swift, who the band refers to as “their friend and musical inspiration.” The artist passed away in 2018 at just age 41.
The album was recorded just outside of El Paso, Texas and self produced by the band. The music video was shot during the Coronavirus pandemic, by over 70 different cinematographers. “The result is a celebration of the collaborative spirit of filmmaking, a successful experiment in safely navigating production during the pandemic, and a mosaic of America during this time,” said director Michael Parks Randa.
The music video features many different people in various places of America. Featuring lots of nature, as well as people playing freely in parking lots and streets, this is a cool video to check out!
On Instagram, the band shares how after an almost five year break, they finally had the chance to go on tour again. The tour started in March, and they were only able to perform one show before COVID-19 hit and touring had to be put on pause. The band has successfully rescheduled tour dates for 2021.
