This week’s Frothy Monkey local artist of the week is Langhorne Slim! “Sundown” is a tribute cover to late Gordan Lightfoot. Langhorne’s deep connection to this song helped him to create this beautiful rendition to this folk hit.

Born and raised in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, the artist has found new roots right here in Nashville. Since releasing music in 2008, his artistry has continued to grow. Previously he has released 3 albums, a number of singles, and a handful of gorgeous covers. Mixing blues, americana, and folk, he is able to write about connection and love. His heartfelt music touches the soul and brings melodic life to the genres.

“Sundown” is the unexpected, but warm-welcomed, cover of a Gordan Lightfoot track. A part of his childhood, he remembers listening to the song on the car radio. Fueled by nostalgia, Langhorne was able to carefully craft an original rendition. Highlighted by sharp and beautiful string instrumentals, it has a classic folk feel. Backed with steady percussion and a clear bass, this remake truly does justice.

Tune in all week to hear “Sundown” by local artist Langhorne Slim! Be on the lookout for new music from Langhorne Slim and check out his website here. Watch the music video below:
