The highly talented singer-songwriter, actress, and model continues to perfect her chic pop sound in this track. The single, released on January 11, is the powerhouse followup to previously released single “To Love.” Both songs are set to be featured on her highly anticipated sophomore album. It is certainly a record fans have been looking forward to.
Written by Suki Waterhouse, Natalie Findlay, and Jules Appollinaire, the song truly allows for Suki’s vocals to bloom. Featuring her iconic breathy lyrics, a unique bass-line, and a 90’s-inspired guitar sound, “OMG” is a perfect single choice. Detailing life post a toxic relationship, the storytelling of Suki’s writing is highlighted beautifully within the almost three-minute track. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Suki detailed her writing process, noting, “It’s really the most tedious, delicate process, so dependent on whether you can get out of your own way that day.”
The accompanying music video is as colorful and vibrant as the song itself. As it takes place in a garden center, Suki is able to stand out in her lipstick red dress. This acts as a perfect visual to welcome fans into her newest era of music. Certainly, the recent announcement of her playing at Coachella, fans are excited to see the live debut of “OMG” and others from her upcoming album set to release later this year.
