Our Frothy Monkey‘s local artist of the week is Denitia with her new song “Back To You”!
Originating from Texas, singer-songwriter Denitia explains why she makes music. Amplifying how she hopes to connect with people and their own emotional and social journey’s through life. Having others relate to her music, in any sense of the word, is her main goal. In her own words, “Music is a Mirror”. Reflecting on lives through music, like one seeing their own reflection through her work, is what she aims to accomplish. If her music helps you feel a sense of connectivity she has done her job. After listening to her new release “Back To You”, connecting to the music comes simply. Denitia states, “we are all just people”. In the same sense, we are all just trying our best to figure out this enigma that is life.
Denitia, after coming to the realization that her present life was no longer serving her, moved back to Nashville where she attended college and is a part of the artist collective- Black Opry. Consequently, deciding to continue her music career, Denitia had an exploration of different genres, eventually landing on Country Americana, and all of our ears are grateful that she did. In her tune, Denitia instantly reels you in by radiating a familiar southern twang partnered with a serenading acoustic guitar. The lyrics depict the plight of a lost love. No matter the change of the seasons, change of scenery, or change of thinking, everything leads…,you guessed it, “Back To You”.
