Rev’s DJ Pick of the Week is “A Stone Only Rolls Downhill” by OK Go!

The Los Angeles four piece is back with their first single of 2025. The band comprises Damian Kulash, Tim Norwind, Dan Konopka, and Andy Ross. Known for their witty, complex, and experimental music videos, OK Go is gearing up for an album release this year. “And The Adjacent Possible”, will be their first full length record in over a decade.

This track begins with a booming drum kit with crispy percussive rhythms that interact well with the tight strumming guitars. Moreover, the second half of the chorus introduces background vocals that sail through harmonies, intertwining with melodies. This all flows into an instrumental with a mangled synth leading the charge. It carries on into a psychedelic bridge with phasing drums, reverberant guitars, and mellow, lo-fi vocal processing. Finally, the last chorus comprises more intense harmonies, synth runs, and vocal rounding.

Amid a major year in 2025, this track reflects uncertainty and resilience. With introspective lyricism and intense imagery, lead singer and writer Kulash presents questions of living in a continually changing world. With this in mind, the track ends with the repetition of the phrase “I wish I could say it would all be all right” with a distant answer “it’ll all be just fine”.

OK Go will be starting a tour of 14 dates in April and will be finishing toward the end of June so make sure to snag your tickets now! Until then, check out their hard work in their newest music video below which incorporated 64 iPhones to film!
