Happy Thursday everyone! On today’s episode of Holiday Hops, DJ Jayson and Rhizome Production’s Matt Leff sample a brew from the bay area that has a tropical flare. The brew is by 21st Amendment Brewery, which is a San Fransisco based brewer new to the Nashville market.
21st Amendment Brewery has a series of IPAs called Brew Free! Or Die. Today’s featured brew is their tropical rendition of this IPA. The Tropical IPA is a classic west coast IPA that comes in at 6.8% ABV. The hops that they’re using to make the brew give it a fun, tropical splash.
Tropical IPA has classic IPA scents and tastes, but you get a really nice punch of tropical fruit flavor which comes from the hops they use. 21st Amendment Brewery uses a wide variety of interesting hops including El Dorado, Mosaic, Amarillo, Idaho Seven, Cashmere and Calypso that all come together to give the Tropical IPA its unique tropical flavor.
The brew isn’t necessarily a supermarket find, but you can purchase it at some of the finer beer retailers around Nashville. Be sure to give it a try, and listen to the full episode of Holiday Hops on Soundcloud below!
