This week’s Community Corner spotlight features The American Heart Association’s Women of Impact!
Brother Love sat down with Kirbee Miller and Valery Parham to explore how the Women of Impact are working to spread awareness for women’s heart health throughout middle Tennessee.
The American Heart Association’s Women of Impact program is working to raise awareness for cardiovascular issues, the leading cause of death in women. Their goal as an organization is to “educate, empower, and raise awareness” for this issue that is often overlooked. Women of Impact is a 9-week fundraising program where women are nominated across the nation to compete and raise awareness for women’s cardiovascular issues. Miller and Parham explain that many are not aware of the risks that heart issues have on women until it’s too late, and they are working to change this narrative. Listen below to hear more about the American Heart Association’s Women of Impact, and find out more about how you can get involved and support on their website!
