This week’s Community Corner spotlight features Actors Point Theatre Company!

Brother Love recently sat down with Greg Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Jackson to explore their impact on the Nashville community. Wilson is the founding Artistic Director of Actors Point Theatre Company and has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, as an actor and director. Jackson is an award-winning actress, advocate, and educator. Actors Point Theatre Company is a local theater group based in Hendersonville, Tennessee. It is dedicated to keeping actors in work and discovering new talent. The company hosts camps, classes, and produces a variety of stage productions for the community. Beyond entertainment, the company sees theater as a powerful way to inspire hope, build human connection, and elevate the voices of the next generation.

Greg Wilson noted that their goal is to “discover, develop, and deploy” actors. Actors Point Theatre Company focuses on showcasing exceptional performers and engaging audiences with thought-provoking performances, providing a venue for artistic expression and entertainment. They also demonstrate a commitment to youth development. They offer students a place to unplug, grow in confidence, and connect with others face-to-face. The company actively works to serve underserved populations and ensures no student is turned away due to financial need.

In addition to developing talent on stage, the organization also fosters essential life skills like communication, teamwork, and empathy. Students who participate in their programs often leave with a stronger sense of identity and purpose. Through partnerships, community outreach, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of the arts, Actors Point is shaping not only better performers, but more engaged, compassionate individuals.
