Happy thirsty Thursday and welcome back to Day 9 of Holiday Hops! We’re almost ready to wrap up this week, but not without hopping across the pond again to try a delicious holiday beer. On today’s episode, DJ Jayson and Rhizome Productions’ Matt Leff are back to try Brasserie D’Achouffe’s Cherry Chouffe from Belgium.
This brewery has been making beer for quite some time, so today’s should be a good one. The Cherry Chouffe is a fruity beer, hence the name, with lots of cherry flavor. At first taste, it’s got the sweetness of the cherry, and then the refreshing taste of a beer. Most Belgian beers are food beers, so this one has a few plates you could try it with. First, Matt recommends pairing this one with either duck or any game meats to complete the dish. If you would rather have it for dessert, it would pair well with any flavors of almonds, strawberries, cherries, or raspberries. This adds a great complement to the table and you’re sure to impress your guests this holiday season.
