The singer details a complicated and interesting relationship dynamic with lyrics like, “Call me up to ask your questions/You never seemed to like the answer” and “Call me up to waste your patience/You know that I’m not the one to stay with.” The song tells of unspoken communication and passive aggression while navigating through a relationship. Whereas this can be a heavier topic, the singer’s endearing tone matches the lighthearted instrumental and melodies, making for an almost-deceptively easy going tune.
