This week’s Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week is Courtney Marie Andrews and we’ll be spinning her song “Thinkin’ On You!”
Courtney Marie Andrews is an indie folk singer-songwriter originally from Phoenix. Andrews, now residing in Nashville, got her start playing keys for Jimmy Eat World. In 2016, she started focusing on her own music and released her first album Honest Life. Her album Old Flowers brought her a 2020 Grammy nomination but never got to bring it on the road before Covid-19 hit. Andrews turned to other creative outlets during her downtime. She has since released a book of poetry and had had gallery shows for her original art, all while still writing and recording.
Now that the world is looking a little more normal, we’re happy to see Andrews is back with a new album, Loose Future. The October release is a blend of indie folk and pop, with each track bringing a different flair. “Thinkin’ On You” is a love song that makes for a perfect folky-fall track. Andrews uses strings, a steel guitar, and velvety harmonies to sing to special someone, and we’re excited to be spinning it all week long thanks to Frothy Monkey!
