Dan’s DJ pick of the week is “Going To California” by Grace Bowers
If you live in Nashville, chances are you’ve heard her name floating around. Some call her “the next Clapton”, while hundreds of others express gratitude for the “savior of music’s future.” Her online presence has converted to real-life fame as her following continues to grow, allowing her to play shows at some of Nashville’s most prestigious venues like the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry.
Just two months after releasing her debut album in September, the 18-year-old guitar prodigy sensation is already back. This one displays Grace’s spin on a Led Zeppelin song from the 1971 cut, “Going To California”. Grace is joined on the track by Lucie Silvas, Caroline Jones, Sierra Hull, and Sista Strings. Grace describes this cover as a sort of “call-back” to her childhood and the authenticity comes through.
Did you catch Grace at Pilgrimage last weekend? No worries if not, Dan’s going to be spinning her all day!
