Nashville is full of talented young singer-songwriters, but you might not realize Music City is rapidly becoming the birthplace of a new wave of pop. Hadley Kennary, a local gem, is quickly becoming a favorite at Lightning 100. She’s been featured in various publications and performed for ABC Chicago’s “Windy City Live”.

Kennary moved all around the U.S from a very young age, in 2014, she graduated from Berklee College of music and relocated to Nashville to explore her dreams. Since then, she has released two EP’s and five singles, including a cover of Britney Spears “Oops I did it Again.”

In 2019, her EP “Habits” got golden reviews from many blogs and publications. Come Here, Floyd said,” Soulful and grounded vocal attention, give off a light of warmth and delight, as she describes moments of moment through poetry and melodies.”

Kennary has a beautiful talent for making even the toughest days relatable through her songwriting and lyrics. She blends pop, country, and soul seamlessly to create almost a genre all her own.

While in quarantine, she finished her first single of 2020, “Blueprint.” On May 17, she debuted the song social distancing style on Facebook live. She partnered with local music venue, The Mercy Lounge for the debut. In this new single, she explores the anxiety and frustration that occurs when life becomes hazy and unpredictable.

This song is very reminiscent of early 2000’s pop female ballads like “White Flag” by Dido. The lyrics of this song are perfect for the odd and unpredictable times we find ourselves in currently. Despite any setbacks or what life has to throw at you, Blueprint is the ideal song to listen to when you fear the unknown.

Check out her new single “Blueprint” and keep an eye out for a series of singles set to release this year. Also, check out her Instagram for fun content such as playlist, her own Instagram filter, and a game of Had-Libs!

Tune in all week long to hear “Blueprint” as we feature Hadley Kennary as our Local Artist of the Week. Catch it live on-air at 100.1FM on your dial or streaming live at lightning100.com.
