This week’s local artist spotlight goes out to local pop artist Heather Bond and her brand-new track, “Ich Weiss Nicht.” Her quirky brand of groovy pop has made her a station favorite for a while. “Ich Weiss Nicht” is no exception, and we’re so proud to be premiering it right here on the station.
Bond, a Kentucky native, moved to Music City back in 2007. Since then, she’s been remarkably prolific, both in her solo career and with her band The Daybreaks. With The Daybreaks, who we named “one of our favorite Nashville supergroups” back in 2019, she’s recorded two albums. And on her own, she has a 2015 record, So Long, along with a variety of other singles and collaborations. Bond has also made her mark on the world of TV, with her “Tomorrow” appearing in the CW’s hit Jane the Virgin. In short, she’s been busy.
More recently, she’s been hard at work with producer Viktor Krauss on her latest album. “Ich Weiss Nicht,” out this Friday on Bandcamp and February 12 everywhere else, is the first taste of that record. If it’s any indication, we’re in for an absolute treat of a release. Krauss himself takes bass duty on the track, providing a groovy base (no pun intended) for Bond’s playful vocal. We’ll be playing “Ich Weiss Nicht” throughout the week as we feature Heather Bond as our Local Artist of the Week. Catch it live on-air at 100.1FM on your dial or streaming live at lightning100.com.
