“Colvin’s voice balances heat with inner grace, walking a line between unlikely poles of Jerry Garcia’s languidness and Gillian Welch’s haunting specificity.” (Holly Gleason, Nashville Arts Magazine)
Described as “wildly earthy,” Shelly’s earliest collaborations were in Los Angeles, writing and performing with groundbreaking, genre-bending pioneers of the California country-rock movement, Herb Pederson, Chris Hillman and JD Souther. Now in Nashville, Shelly has written and recorded two full-length albums – her latest, Longshot, is set to release in late 2015 – and, most recently, appears in the much-anticipated music documentary, Heartworn Highways Revisited, which pays homage to the original cult-classic film by focusing on the unique characters and talent bubbling up from the quirky and substantial East Nashville music scene.
