Garrett Dutton or “G. Love” has done a lot of things in his lifetime including writing a book for kids who have traveling father and releasing 14 studio albums with his band G. Love and Special Sauce. The band was formed in 1992 in Philadelphia and are currently embarking on their 25 year anniversary tour. G. Love and Special Sauce took the stage at 3rd & Lindsley for Nashville Sunday Night equipped with an upright bass, drums, guitar, and a harmonica. G. Love’s harmonica playing in tangent with his Beastie Boy’s like phrasing puts a unique twist on the blues that crosses into the realm of hip hop. The band opened with their upbeat crowd pleaser tune, “Peace, Love and Happiness” and towards the end of their set G. Love played some acoustic solo tunes.
