Producer/artist Jonathan Wilson has embarked on an acoustic solo tour and made his first stop at 3rd & Lindsley for Lightning 100’s Nashville Sunday Night. Jonathan Wilson was born in North Carolina but now lives in the famous music mecca of Laurel Canyon, California. Wilson’s music is reminiscent of many of the 60s’ and 70s’ greats of Laurel Canyon and so is his lifestyle within the community. He established his presence by hosting jam sessions with participating artists such as Jenny Lewis, Elvis Costello, and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson to name a few. Wilson has also made waves producing some of Father John Misty’s work as well as touring alongside Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters. Wilson’s latest album Rare Birds dives into the realms of psychedelic rock and is layered with synth over folk lyricism and acoustic guitar. Wilson shed a lot of layers to his soundscape as he performed acoustically accompanying himself on piano and guitar and bringing special guest Pat Sansone of Wilco to play piano on his last few songs. Be sure to listen to Rare Birds and check out Jonathan Wilson’s full Nashville Sunday Night Set Below.
