Rachel Baiman’s haunting voice overwhelmed the stage on November 26th at 3rd and Lindsley. This young Americana songwriter and fiddle player played tracks off her album released earlier this year. Her record Shame questions the idea of growing up female in America today, exploring taboo topics related to abortion, sex, and abusive relationships. Baiman’s quest to defy social norms is just getting started; along with the release of her 2nd solo album, she has contributed to the group Folk Fights Back, an organization that creates benefit concerts and events to fight the social climate of today.
