Gabe Dixon offers a shoulder to lean on in “Lay It On Me,” the title track for his third solo project out June 25th. As the second single ahead of the album’s release, Dixon returns with his trademark jazz-influenced keys and smooth, soul-inspired vocals. We’ll have the song on loop this weekend as we feature Dixon as our ONErpm Hitmaker.
“Lay It On Me” centers around Dixon’s desire to be a pillar of support for his friends and loved ones, and it’s the anthem of positivity that we’re all looking for this summer. In an interview with American Songwriter, Dixon describes why he wanted to keep a happy mood for his new music: “I consciously wanted this album to have an upbeat feel,” he said. “Specifically, I wanted it to have a lot of positive messages. Being able to stand up and say, ‘I want to take on your burden,’ that means you’re probably in a good place.”
