Royal Blood is a rock duo from Brighton, England that formed in 2011. They band got attention in 2014 from their self-titled debut album released on Warner Brothers Records. They followed up the album with their biggest European tour yet, gaining more traction before playing several US festivals. The band released their sophomore LP, How Did We Get So Dark?, in 2017, which quickly reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Now, Royal Blood has released their first new music in years. Royal Blood’s newest single “Trouble’s Coming” is featured as Dan’s DJ Pick of the Week!

“Trouble’s Coming” is a fierce track with a strong guitar riff that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. The track has a hard-hitting dance beat and high-pitched synth. The lyrics in the chorus elevate the dance energy with catchy repetition: “I hear trouble coming, I hear trouble coming over and over again.” The song’s upbeat sound juxtaposes the dark and rawness in the song’s lyrics, particularly in the verses.

In an interview with NME, Mike Kerr shared a bit about the band’s long break without new releases. “We’re aware that we’ve been away for a long time, and we didn’t want to come back with something that we’d done before. This [record] shows a maturity on every level.” We can’t wait to catch Royal Blood’s third studio upon release in spring 2021.
