Lt. Dan here with my DJ pick of the week from Weyes Blood aka Natalie Mering. Mering recently announced the coming of her fourth studio album, Titanic Rising, and released another single called “Everyday.”
She describes Titanic Rising, out April 5 via Sup Pop, as “the Kinks meet WWII or Bob Seger meets Enya.”
“There are complicated influences mixed in with more relatable nostalgic melodies. In my mind, my music feels so big, a true production. I’m not a huge, popular artist, but I feel like one when I’m in the studio. But it’s never taking away from the music. I’m just making a bigger space for myself,” Mering said in a statement.
The new album will accompany a North American tour which includes a date at The High Watt in Nashville June 4. Listen to “Everyday” below and let us know what you think!
