Lightning 100’s 5th annual Kids Fest at Live On The Green is right around the corner, and we’re pumped! This year we’ve added more activities to extend the fest through Sunday! Join us Saturday, Aug. 31 as we kicks things off with Kids Yoga on The Green from 12-12:20 p.m. then head over to the615 stage as Mr. Jack of the Lightning Bugs performs his silly songs followed by a performance from The Happy Racers! The Nashville Zoo will be on site with some of their ambassador animals, and we’ll have balloon animals and a chance to play some instruments compliments of Tenn Little Birds!
The fun doesn’t have to stop there! Bring a bathing suit, towel and change of clothes for the little ones, and they can have hours of fun in the fountains while you enjoy free live music from Bailen, Wild Love, Los Coast and more. And, we highly recommend stopping by the Sucker Brunch food truck and trying the Classic Stack. Yummy, fluffy pancakes with real maple syrup and whipped cream.
Come back on Sunday for more FREE live music from Steve Earle, Lindsay Ell, The Marcus King Band and so many more. Check out 36|86’s tent for Adventures Science Center’s makers fair. They’ll have hands-on robotic exhibit the whole family will love! Treat yourself after hours of kiddo time with a Bloody Mary from Tito’s Bloody Mary Bar or a treat from Bradley’s Creamery Truck. Trust us, you can’t go wrong with Banana – it tastes just like Grandma’s banana pudding.
Pro- Tips for all Mom and Dad:
– What to pack: Sunscreen, blanket, hats, swimsuit/towel/change of clothes (if you plan on fountain time), noise-canceling headphones for the kids, stroller/wagon
– There are over 40 food trucks on site, so you have plenty of options for snacks. We also have water, sodas and alcohol but plan ahead if you want milk or juice.
– Park in the Public Square Park Garage. The parking fee is affordable and there are elevators to take you directly to the park.
– Make sure to check out the Live On The Green merch tent to buy shirts for you and the little ones! Stop by the Lightning 100 tent to record a message for our Lightning Bugs show!
