From Southern California comes The Aquadolls, a three piece all female band. In 2012, guitarist and singer Melissa Brooks formed the band as an outlet to express herself. With Keilah Nina on bass and Jacqueline Proctor on drums, they have continued to develop their nostalgic 90s sound. Throughout the years, they have made music to spread messages about self-love and positivity. Today they continue to release dynamic dreamy music.
“Far Far Away” continues to promote this message. The powerful chorus sings, “If I can’t can’t can’t take care of me, how is anyone gonna ever love me?” The lyrics promoting the fact the only way to be loved, is to be loved by yourself first. It’s clear the guitar leads the song, with a striking sound and impressive riffs. The catchy melody makes this song a stand out on the album. This track takes you back to the 90s and feels like teen angst all over again.
Charmed, their new album, features “Far Far Away” and 8 other tracks. Highlighting themes of love, friendship, and heartbreak, it appeals to a wide range of audiences. The bands distinct sound makes them standout in the alternative scene. Check out Charmed and listen to the song below!
