This week Rev has detected an artist that continues to keep funk alive and well. Allen Stone, originating from Chewelah, Washington uncovered his love for music while attending his parents congregations, as he grew up a pastor’s child. After figuring out college wasn’t the right path, Stone started to gig whenever and wherever he could. After putting in the hard yards, Stone accumulated a steadfast following, that propelled him further into his career. With is star studded live performances as well as his unique talent to blend soulful lyrics with a funk sound, Stone dominated the ever evolving music scene.
His success has allowed him to perform on many acclaimed stages. Such as, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, American Idol and The Today Show.
Encompassed in his new release “Can’t Explain This Love” Stone verbalizes how difficult relationships can be when loving a traveling musician. He states, that he and his wife make it work. Further stating that their love doesn’t add up on paper, nor does it have to. Quoting from the lyrics themselves “You could sail the whole equator And you’d never split us up
You just can’t explain this love”. Why be judicious about something that is already heavily unconventional? When you find love that works why question it no matter the circumstance.
I personally would like to challenge you to not bust a move while listening to this groovy, energetic, and vibrant song that is “Can’t Explain This Love”. It is harder than you think trust me.
