JR JR “As I Walk Along” is this week’s ONErpm Hitmaker of the week!
Adding to their collection JR JR is débuting their 5th studio album Back to the Land. Daniel Zott & Josh Epstein entice audiences as this is their first album release since 2019. The duo was eager to re-examine their original sound when songwriting in 2009. True to the title of the album JR JR went back to their roots, and stripped back to the fundamental layers of their songwriting. This led to the clear and finite instrumentation that can be heard in “As I walk Along”. The song mainly touches on the organic strumming and ample lyrical meaning. “As I walk Along” depicts the appreciation and implicit examination of our collective humanity.
Zott and Epstein co-produced with longtime collaborator Ben West on Back to the Land. The album takes inspiration from the minimalist folk and psychedelic tunes inspired by the age of flower power melodies. The movement originated in the late 60’s and early 70’s during the Woodstock-esque signer and songwriter movement. This encouraged JR JR to emphasize vocal harmonies intended to be crisp and undisturbed for the listener. Throughout the albums 10 tracks, the songs swirl with raw emotion, inviting fans to connect with JR JR at their most honest and unfiltered.
