Rev’s Lightning 100 DJ Pick of The Week this week is “Pretending” by The Wild Feathers!
This week The Wild Feathers remind us to never pretend. “Pretending,” a song from their new album Sirens, reflects on how “pretending everything is alright” often isn’t the best resolution. The soulful slide guitar, with its emotive resonance, beautifully merges with the sultry voice of Joel King. Together, they create a thought-provoking tune that perfectly captures the essence of a pensive relationship teetering on the edge. “Pretending” is a beautifully crafted song that captures a profound, almost indescribable emotion, while effortlessly inviting listeners to lose themselves in its heartfelt melody.
The Wild Feathers, a local Nashville band, formed in 2010. Unlike many other bands formed in a similar manner, The Wild Feathers have been together for 14 years and counting! Continuing to express their passion proved to be victorious, as The Wild Feathers have toured alongside Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson all while staying true to their Nashville Americana roots. Sirens marks The Wild Feathers’ first new album in three years, and they are ready to unleash their fresh sounds to the world.
