For this episode of Community Corner, we’re speaking with Kristen Beckham, the executive assistant to Thistle Farms’ founder Becca Stevens. Thistle Farms is the largest non-profit social enterprise in the country, run by and dedicated to supporting women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. Led by their motto “love heals,” Thistle Farms focuses on compassion, followed by restoration and employment. Across the country, the organization offers resources such as free housing, healthcare, counseling, and community. Thistle Farms also employs their survivors through their 3 social enterprises, Body & Home, The Café, and Global Shared Trade. Recognizing broken social systems, Thistle Farms succeeds in rehabilitating women survivors with 75% of their graduates achieving healthy, financially independent lives.
