In this week’s Community Corner, Trevor Jones sits down with Brother Love to talk about his organization, Village Kulture.

Village Kulture’s focus lies in encouraging characteristics in young men to promote success through haircuts and mentoring. They use a haircut to get kids in the chair, and from there, aim to inspire greatness and confidence in them. If you look good, you are sure to feel good.

Village Kulture was started by Trevor Jones during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization is based on one of the two things that made Jones feel his best: haircuts and going to the gym. He told Brother Love when you get a haircut, you gain a whole new personality. It changes how you feel about yourself on the inside as well as outside. Village Kulture sponsors haircuts for young men by paying for their haircuts twice a month until they graduate high school.

Since their start, Village Kulture has been able to help over 100 kids- which means not only a haircut, but a conversation with each and every one of them. They prepare young men for professional scenarios such as school and job interviews.

There are multiple ways to get involved and support Village Kulture. The organization is always looking for sponsors, donors, partners, and volunteers to provide monetary donations which go towards haircuts, hair care products, clothing, and more. They also are always looking for barbershops, community organizations, and schools to partner with. To donate, you can visit their website here.
